DFW Chapter | Climate Reality Project
We envision a world where climate dialogue is normalized and everyone has equal access to clean water, clean air, nourishing food, clean electricity, and a healthy and just environment. We will work towards creating a larger, more diverse, and sustainable movement in the DFW area that leads to stronger climate activism at all levels, and provides for a just transition to a fossil-free future. We recognize that climate change is a threat multiplier and intersects with other areas of injustice, and will work towards creating a more just society for all.
We will be the go-to group in North Texas for solution-driven and evidence-based climate education and collaborations to address the intersection of climate and justice.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter actively subscribes to these principles, and much of our vitality and success derives from them.
The 6 principles are:
Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
DFW Chapter
We, at the Climate Reality Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter, acknowledge the ongoing harm caused by colonialism and white supremacy perpetuated in Texas. Indigenous communities have suffered genocides and forced removals from their lands. We recognize that we all are standing on lands stolen from Indigenous people, particularly those of Kickapoo, Wichita, Tawakoni, Jumanos, and Comanche in the DFW areas. We are committed to cultivating mindfulness around the history of native lands and communities through continuous education, participation, and active listening.
Let’s learn together:
A guide to Indigenous land acknowledgment – Native Governance Center
Continuing the work started by our founder, former Vice President Al Gore, in his 2006 film An Inconvenient Truth, our presentations cover the latest science on the realities of the climate crisis, the facts about solutions that are already available, and ways to take action and build a movement for change. We present to any size audience on your schedule and at your location. Our members have presented to a wide range of audiences from large corporations to local book clubs and garden clubs, and to audiences ranging from middle school students to senior citizens. We can tailor the length of the presentation to fit your schedule, and the presentations are always free of charge. The only restriction is that in general they cannot be recorded.
