DFW Chapter | Climate Reality Project
Former Vice President Gore used the profits from An Inconvenient Truth to launch a program to train climate activists to spread the messages delivered in the film. These training programs are intensive educational experiences, all led personally by Mr. Gore, that introduce participants to both the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective climate activists. These programs are held each year in the U. S. and around the world. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Climate Reality created virtual training programs for the first time. For the first program scheduled for July, more than 14,000 people applied from 132 countries. Due to enormous demand, a second virtual training was offered in August. In the future, we anticipate that some mix of virtual and in-person training programs will be offered.
These training programs are offered free of charge. Participants do pay for their own transportation, lodging, and some meals during the in-person programs. Scholarships may be available. Early application is strongly encouraged!
Our monthly meeting is the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Currently, we are meeting via Zoom. The link for the meeting is available to chapter members via email. We invite you to join our chapter and attend the meetings! Here are some of our previous monthly meetings.
Although our working groups are not currently active, in the past, chapter members from local groups have focused on solutions to specific climate-related problems. They have organized outreach to underserved communities and communities of interest.

Continuing the work started by our founder, former Vice President Al Gore, in his 2006 film An Inconvenient Truth, our presentations cover the latest science on the realities of the climate crisis, the facts about solutions that are already available, and ways to take action and build a movement for change. We present to any size audience on your schedule and at your location.
Our members have presented to a wide range of audiences from large corporations to local book clubs and garden clubs, and to audiences ranging from middle school students to senior citizens. We have speakers who can address specific topics such as renewable energy, sustainability, health care, mental health, environmental justice, and more.
See the speaker profiles in this section for more information. We can tailor the length of the presentation to fit your schedule, and the presentations are always free of charge. The only restriction is that in general they cannot be recorded.
